Their excursions lead them to the extraordinary specimens of the German linguistic jungle, such as the Honigkuchenpferd, the Schnapsdrossel, the Anstandswauwau and the Planierraupe. Each animal is portrayed and served up with a rhyme. The illustrator and author hope that, with this handbook of colloquial animals, they have created a standard work that falls short of its great model in almost no respect.
