From 03.08. The exhibition “ANIMALISM” took place in the Caricatura – Museum for Comic Art in Frankfurt am Main until December 03, 2017 with over 60,000 visitors.

Politicians, flies and pigs – that could be a short summary of what the exhibition shows. Of course there is a lot more to see from Frank Hoppmann, the master of portrait drawing. The politicians are joined by other public figures: actors, musicians, athletes, philosophers – even death has its place. Bizarre three-dimensional objects and cartoons complement the portrait drawings. In his portraits, Frank Hoppmann makes the animal element in people visible; his pigs and flies reflect people. In many cases this seems amusing, but often also disturbing.
